Two conservative radicals, both with reputations as dedicated MAGA Republicans, appeared at odds before a vote on Wednesday, June 14th, on the floor of the House of Representatives (HOR). The House Republicans are facing internal turmoil as lawmakers push for impeachment votes.
This turmoil was put on full display when an attempt to censure Adam Schiff failed. Some Republicans called the opposition to setting an example of fining Schiff unconstitutional.
Representatives Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene started a heated interaction that was meant to be civil at first, according to a report done by the liberal site The Daily Beast.
A video of their interaction, while no transcript of what they were actually saying to each other is available, appears to be very unfriendly. The two can be seen shouting and pointing, as if angry. It was reported that Green went as far as to call Lauren Boebert a “little b****” in their conversation. This was again reported by The Daily Beast, which cited three sources. Two of which allegedly saw their exchange, while the third claimed to be “familiar with the matter.”
They may have been discussing the articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden both representatives introduced. They were quoting impeachment on the matter of the immigration crisis at the southern border. However, Greene appeared to be displeased with what she viewed as Boebert copying her articles of impeachment.
The Daily Beast claims that Greene told Boebart that she wanted to discuss the “statements you’ve made about me publicly.”
“I’ve donated to you, I’ve defended you. But you’ve been nothing but a little b**** to me,” she said, according to the website. “And you copied my articles of impeachment after I asked you to cosponsor them.”
A separate member of the House Republican Caucus implied that Greene had referred to Boebert with profanity, as The Daily Beast wrote.
“I heard Marjorie call Boebert a b**** right to her face,” the lawmaker said, according to The Daily Beast.
Lauren Boebert herself allegedly rejected Greene in their heated conversation on the House floor.
“OK, Marjorie, we’re through,” she said, the website reported.
“We were never together,” Greene responded, according to The Daily Beast.
Politico reported Olivia Beavers posted on Twitter saying that Greene later confirmed that the description of their conversation given by The Daily Beast was in fact accurate to what had happened that day.
The message reads: “Rep. GREENE says the Daily Beast story of her calling Rep. Boebert ‘a little [b****]’ is ‘impressively correct’” Beavers attached a link to the Daily Beast article.
Olivia Beavers replied to her post, writing: “To be clear, I asked: ‘Was the name calling correct? There was a Daily Beast story that said you called her a ‘a little [b****.’” ‘Impressively correct,’ she replied.”
Though, this feud didn’t arise randomly on Wednesday. It has been brewing for months.
In an interview done in January with the conservative radio host Dana Loesch, Boebert remembered arguing with Green in the women’s bathroom in the Capitol amidst the fight over the House speakership. Marjorie Greene supported Representative Kevin McCarthy of California, who did eventually win the speaker position.
Boebert issued a statement on the same Wednesday that rejected focus on her differences with Greene and their everlasting and growing feud. Instead, she focused on writing about her political efforts opposing President Joe Biden’s agenda.
“Marjorie is not my enemy. I came here to protect our children and their posterity,” the statement said, according to The Daily Beast. “Joe Biden and the Democrats are destroying our country.
“My priorities are to correct their bad policies and save America.”
