A Twitter user named Alfonso Robinson started the anger when he posted pictures of the preparations on the site. He was worried that the decorations looked like nooses, which are a traditional sign of lynching and other forms of racial violence. He said the decorations made him feel bad. Besides that, he talked about how worried he was about what was going on. There was a bad mistake, and many people blamed the restaurant. Robinson’s tweet went viral almost as soon as it was sent.
Cracker Barrel says that the line was part of an antique soldering iron display that was meant to look like it came from a long time ago. In a hurry, Cracker Barrel explained what was going on. The goal of the show was to show the past as a picture of the earth. In spite of this, they said they were going to move right away and admitted that the comparison to nooses was wrong.
