Our favorite traffic judge from Rhode Island, Frank Caprio, who has touched the hearts of millions, shared some sad news. In a video from the show Caught in Providence, he talked about his recent birthday and then shared that he has pancreatic cancer, which is a tough type of cancer.
He said he found out about the cancer last month, right around the time he usually celebrates his birthday, one of his happiest days of the year.
Judge Frank, who is 87 years old, shared that this birthday feels unlike any he’s had before. He wasn’t feeling well lately, so he went to the doctor, and the news wasn’t good. He learned that he has pancreatic cancer, which is a tricky type of cancer.
Now, he’s getting treatments in Rhode Island and at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, which is part of Massachusetts General Hospital. He’s grateful to have a fantastic team of doctors looking after him during this time.
“I hope God guides the thoughts and hands of the doctors taking care of me. I know this is going to be a long journey, and I’m ready to fight with all my strength,” he said. He asked his friends and followers to pray for him.
“Some people ask, ‘How can I help?’ First of all, I want to thank everyone for being such good friends and for your kind messages. But I have a request. However you pray, please say a prayer for me. I believe, along with the medical treatment I’m getting, prayers are a strong force that can help me get through this.
“Just knowing that you’re thinking of me means a lot. So, thank you for all your past messages. Thank you for your love and support. And please, just a small prayer would mean a great deal to me.”
Judge Frank had served as the chief judge of the municipal court in Providence, Rhode Island until his retirement in January 2023. He retired after nearly 40 years of service.
Our thoughts and prayers are with incredible man.
