ICE agents are flooding into Minneapolis, Minnesota, in an attempt to crack down on both illegal immigration in the sanctuary city generally and the massive Somali migrant fraud scandal that could have involved the theft of over $18 billion in taxpayer dollars and news of which has taken the nation by storm.
Infuriatingly, though perhaps not surprisingly, given that Minneapolis is a deep-blue sanctuary city, the locals have not welcomed ICE agents and other DHS personnel who are there to keep Americans safe from invasion. Instead, protests have repeatedly targeted ICE’s efforts, one protester appears to have tried to run over ICE agents, and some local businesses have tried to exclude ICE agents. Particularly, a local McDonald’s was caught doing so.
In fact, that McDonald’s was revealed to have put a sign on its door saying, in a title that was flanked by stop sign icons, “NO ICE ACCESS IN THIS BUSINESS” and “PRIVATE PROPERTY – ENTRY RESTRICTED BY LAW NOTICE TO ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT & IMMIGRATION AGENTS”.
The poster then went on to say, “This is a private business. You are not permitted to enter non-public areas of this business (including offices, break rooms, storage areas, and staff-only areas without a valid JUDICIAL WARRANT signed by a judge or magistrate” and “An ICE administrative warrant (Form I-200 or I-205) does not authorize entry into private areas of this business.” It added, “You may not question employees or search the premises without proper legal authority.”
It then went on to vow that any agents who entered the restaurant despite the sign would be denied service and asked to leave. To back that up, the franchise went to the great length of hiring a private security guard to threaten agents and request that they leave, as happened when DHS agents turned up at the fast food restaurant. “This is private property. So you can’t just break the law because you’re a federal agent. It’s like coming into your house or coming to any other restaurant. There’s rules,” the guard was caught on tape telling them, demanding they leave.
As could be expected, conservatives online went absolutely ballistic over the news that a McDonald’s had not only threatened to refuse to serve ICE agents, but actually did so when those agents showed up in it. Many, in fact, took to calling for the entire national chain to be boycotted over the incident.
For example, one poster responded to a post the McDonald’s X account made by including a picture of the poster that demanded ICE agents not enter, and warned the chain that it would face a nationwide boycott over the incident. That poster wrote, “If this is true, you have some consequences of your very own actions, in the shape of a nationwide boycott, heading McDonald’s way. Get woke – go broke.”
