Once again, former President Donald Trump has stirred up controversy by promoting a baseless conspiracy theory on social media.
At the age of 78, Trump, a Republican, is known for spreading misinformation. Despite losing the 2020 election, he has insisted on unfounded claims of it being “rigged,” and has previously questioned Barack Obama’s birthplace. His latest claim questions the authenticity of President Joe Biden, suggesting he died in 2020 and since then, has been replaced with clones.

The original post shared by Trump emerged from a pro-Trump social media outlet.
This post claimed: “There is no #JoeBiden – executed in 2020.” Furthermore, it alleged that “robotic engineered soulless mindless entities” have been posing as the president.
Trump shared this extraordinary claim with his nearly 10 million followers on Truth Social, the social media platform he created in 2022 after being banned from conventional social networks.

As expected, Trump’s decision to disseminate such a conspiracy invited a lot of backlash.
Many took to social media to criticize, with one person commenting: “Just think how much our political standards have dropped – the former president shares QAnon-level nonsense.”
They further noted, “This isn’t a rare occurrence anymore. Trump regularly uses his platform to spread absurd internet conspiracies.”
Another user remarked with sarcasm, “Your president, America,” while a different user expressed concern saying, “I really don’t know how we recover from the current political situation. It’s disheartening.”
Yet another commenter reflected on the past, “There was a time when actions like this would end a political career.”
Though Trump is no stranger to promoting wild theories online, this particular post garnered intense reactions due to its extreme nature and claims.
The timing of Trump’s post was particularly striking, occurring just weeks after President Biden’s office disclosed that the 82-year-old president had been diagnosed with an aggressive type of prostate cancer.

A statement dated May 18 revealed Biden had undergone medical evaluations for urinary issues leading to the discovery of a prostate nodule.
This investigation concluded with a diagnosis of metastatic prostate cancer, registering a Gleason score of 9, signifying a high-grade and fast-growing cancer.
The statement reassured that despite the diagnosis’s gravity, it can be treated with hormone therapy due to its hormone-sensitive nature. Biden’s medical team is reportedly mulling over treatment options, and the president is deeply involved in these critical choices, with his family by his side.
For context, Cancer Research UK indicates a Gleason score of nine suggests highly abnormal cancer cells, which are prone to rapid spreading. It’s among the most hazardous prostate cancer classifications.
While President Biden concentrates on his health and treatment, Trump’s antics on social media continue to garner attention and worry. His endorsement of such conjectures continues to fuel misinformation, potentially aggravating political divides at a time when public confidence in government and media is vulnerable.
With the 2024 presidential election on the horizon, Trump’s recent conduct exemplifies his unique, often provoking, approach to political engagement.
