When a Texas man returned home to find his girlfriend in bed with another man, he pulled out his phone to take pictures of them for proof. At that moment, however, things suddenly took a turn.
Duston Holloway had a unique reaction when he walked into his bedroom and found his girlfriend passed out drunk in bed with another man. The no-nonsense Texan whipped out his camera, snapped a few photos, even going as far as to take a selfie in front of them, and headed directly to social media.
Documenting the deceit, he posted the images on Facebook, clearly depicting his woman sleeping next to a strange, shirtless man. “When you come home to another man in your bed with the one you loved!” Holloway wrote as the caption to the images. “Good men deserve good women,” the 23-year-old from Emory, Texas, added, as Daily Mail reported.
Of course, the images quickly garnered the attention of other social media users, one of whom asked Holloway if he woke his girlfriend’s new lover after taking the photos. Admitting that he wanted to “kick his a**,” Holloway continued, “But I calmly just took selfies and walked like a boss lol.”
Holloway further explained, “I did tap her to wake her up but she was drunk as a skunk passed out.” Obviously not losing his sense of humor, he added, “I was gonna ask if I was gonna have to sleep in the spare bedroom and what kinda breakfast the dude liked lmao.”
The shocking post quickly went viral as thousands of people around the world began sending messages of support to Duston, praising him for keeping his cool during such a shocking and hurtful situation. “I’ve had thousands of messages; thousands upon thousands of people from all over the world congratulated me on being a better man and walking away,” Holloway wrote in a followup post.
“I have pride and respect,” he said, responding to the support he received. He added that he was amazed by “the way this had turned” out, explaining that the day he took the photos, “I thought my world fell apart.” Thanking everyone for their words of encouragement, he continued, “I was heartbroken to ever witness anything like that, but with the amount of support from FB and family and friends, I want to personally thank each and every one of you.”
Then, he shared a lesson we can all benefit from learning. “The world ain’t as bad as we think,” he said. “I know good people deserve the best,” he added, saying that he was “officially amazed” by the outcome of the situation. “But there’s no need in bashing someone when they are down,” he continued. “It was wrong; it did suck but being the better person is always the best way. THE BEST FEELING IS WHEN SOMEONE APPRECIATES EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU THAT SOMEONE TOOK FOR GRANTED!” he boldly concluded.
Dustin’s post received thousands of likes in just a few short days, with many social media users once again sounding off to show their admiration for the man. “Dustin you’re a handsome young man. Any women would be proud to have you as their ‘man.’ You showed respect by not beating up this man all cozy in your bed with your girl!” wrote one commenter. “It take’s a man to walk away.”
“Honestly, man, amazing job. I would have blown up immediately and woke them both up. The way you kept your cool and got your revenge was amazing. Good luck man!” read another one of the thousands of comments, while yet another added, “I am so happy to see there are still good men in this world. There is hope for all of us! Remember it takes a bigger person to walk away and you proved that!”
My reaction to finding my partner in bed with someone else would be to scream and yell. So, I’m also most impressed that even with all the pain that the sight must have caused, the betrayed boyfriend kept that rage in check so well that he didn’t even wake the cheaters from their slumber.
It’s often hard to stay calm, cool, and collected in a miserable situation, but if Duston Holloway could do it when faced with this scene in his own bed, we all can, regardless of what life might throw our way. Indeed, it does take a bigger person to just walk away. It’s often the brighter person too since we all know Duston would have likely faced harsh legal consequences if he had instead decided to pummel the promiscuous pair.
As hard as it is to watch people go through tough times, it is equally inspiring to watch them reach down deep to rise above their circumstances, handling the situation like a boss. As one Facebook user told Duston Holloway, “Don’t Give Up. Its All In God’s Hands… He Has A Plan For You.” Whatever that plan may be, one thing is certain: This world could use more guys just like Duston and fewer women like the one he left.
Back in 74, I walked into my Memphis apartment a day early after working out of town. I found my girlfriend of 4 years shacked up in my apartment with another guy.
I ran him and her out with a .44 magnum and shredded 4 suits that were in my closet and threw them in the trash dumpster.
The apartment manager knocked on my door a few minutes later and said he wanted his suits. I said no problem, they are in the dumpster.
I never saw either of them again.
