Chris Christie, a former governor of New Jersey, announced his candidacy for president by launching an extraordinary attack on former President Donald Trump, his family, and his administration. But despite Christie’s assault, Trump, who is renowned for his fortitude and unwavering belief, showed no sign of weakness.
Christie blasted Trump during his campaign launch, calling him a “lonely, self-consumed mirror hog,” in an effort to distinguish himself from the outgoing president and win over more moderate Republicans.
One of the first top officials to endorse Trump in the 2016 election, Christie is now promoting himself as the only Republican prepared to use the term Voldemort while criticizing the 45th president.
In classic Trump manner, the attacks didn’t discourage the former leader. On Truth Social, Trump posted an altered version of Christie’s town hall appearance, but with a smart twist. His image was altered to seem in a buffet scene while proudly clutching a platter of delectable food.

“How many times did Chris Christie use the word SMALL? Does he have a psychological problem with SIZE? Actually, his speech was SMALL, and not very good,” Trump wrote.
“It rambled all over the place, and nobody had a clue of what he was talking about. Hard to watch, boring, but that’s what you get from a failed Governor (New Jersey) who left office with a 7% approval rating and then got run out of New Hampshire. This time, it won’t be any different!”

In a crowded field that features powerhouses like Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, and many more, it is evident that Christie is attempting to carve out his own niche.
Without knowing it, Christie has already created his space in the campaign arena, which is that he’s fodder for funny remarks:
Christie has changed from being a friend of the president to one of his most vehement detractors after backing him in the elections of 2016 and 2020. Christie was shown at a buffet last year, and Trump captioned the photo, “Chris Christie at a Roy Rogers at 11 PM in the evening trying to console himself.”
Following Christie’s attacks on Mrs. Melania Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, Trump started circulating memes.
The Kushner family and Christie have been at odds for many years. Christie prosecuted Charles Kushner, Kushner’s father, while he was the US Attorney for New Jersey in 2004. Charles Kushner eventually pleaded guilty to “16 counts of assisting in the filing of false tax returns, one count of retaliating against a cooperating witness, and one count of making false statements to the Federal Election Commission,” according to a statement from the Department of Justice.
Trump pardoned Charles Kushner in 2020.
