On their wedding night, the bride let out a terrified scream… (Part 2)

Shortly after four in the morning, Katherine stepped into the hallway in her crushed wedding dress and dropped to her knees before Grace.

“Forgive me because I knew Caleb had once been in love with another woman,” Katherine wept softly. “But I did not know he married me specifically to punish me for her absence.”

Grace led her to the kitchen, where Katherine revealed the horrifying confrontation in the bedroom. Caleb had locked the door, trapped her against the wall, and screamed that she would finally suffer for destroying his former fiancée, Beatrice’s life—punching the wall inches from her head before she screamed.

Demanding answers, Grace confronted Caleb in his room. Caleb opened a leather notebook, revealing that three years ago, his former love Beatrice vanished after receiving anonymous photos accusing her of cheating.

“I found Beatrice’s diary,” Caleb confessed, his voice heavy with guilt. “She wrote that the person who sent those photos was her best friend… Katherine. I pursued Katherine, made her fall in love with me, and married her to make her suffer.”

“So none of this was ever a wedding,” Grace said, heartbroken. “It was a revenge plot disguised as a marriage.”

THE UNMASKING OF THE LIE

At dawn, Katherine walked into the kitchen and placed an old photograph on the table showing herself, Beatrice, and a third woman named Vanessa.

“Vanessa destroyed Beatrice,” Katherine explained steadily. “She was obsessed with Caleb. She stole my phone and sent those photos to frame me. When Beatrice believed I betrayed her, Vanessa threatened to have my mother fired from her job if I ever spoke the truth.”

Caleb froze, pale and speechlessness.

Before anyone could speak, a knock echoed at the front door. It was Beatrice herself, alongside an anonymous audio recording. Grace played the file aloud in the silent kitchen.

Vanessa’s voice filled the room, casually laughing as she admitted framing Katherine, stealing her phone, and fabricating the entire scandal so she could have Caleb for herself.

Caleb collapsed to his knees, sobbing hysterically as the reality of his destructive mistake set in. Every decision he had made for three years was built on a cruel lie.

“You married me to punish me,” Katherine said softly, looking down at him. “You smiled at me every day and promised to love me… all because you believed I deserved to suffer. You never asked for the truth.”

THE FINAL AFTERMATH

Three days later, Katherine filed for an immediate annulment. She packed her small suitcase, rejected Caleb’s desperate pleas for forgiveness, and left the estate forever.

Months later, Vanessa was formally charged with multiple corporate fraud offenses, during which she signed a full confession clearing Katherine’s name. Beatrice rebuilt her career in another city, while Katherine joined a non-profit legal organization to help others, leaving the past behind.

Caleb resigned from his civil engineering firm, entering therapy to face how grief and anger had turned him into a monster. Though he wrote dozens of letters seeking forgiveness, Katherine never answered a single one.

Grace often thought back to the horrific scream that shattered her family that night. A single lie had destroyed three lives—but revenge had wiped out everything that was left.
