My Brother Disappeared On The Night Of His Prom — 23 Years Later, I Saw His Carbon Copy 3,000 Miles From Home

My brother left the house for prom night and never returned.

Twenty-three years passed with no answers, no explanations, and no ending.

Then, three thousand miles away, I looked into the eyes of a teenage stranger who had his exact face.

The suit had taken my mother four months to afford, saving grocery money and going without a winter coat just to buy it for him.

I still remember 17-year-old Daniel standing at the foot of the stairs, looking so handsome as he adjusted his collar.

His entire face changed, and suddenly he vaulted over the counter and sprinted out the door.

I chased him into the parking lot, shouting for him to wait until he finally stopped, trembling.

When he turned around and asked who I was, I told him my name and mentioned Daniel.

“That’s my dad’s name,” the boy whispered, causing my stomach to drop.

Sitting in my rental car, Jacob admitted he had accidentally found an old metal box years ago containing his dad’s original birth certificate and photos under a different identity.

Just as Jacob was explaining why his father had been forced to change his name, a dark sedan pulled into the parking lot right beside us…
