He Married the “Ugliest” Daughter for Money, but Found Blood on Her Dress – The Secret Key Revealed a Deadly Conspiracy (Part 2)

Julian carefully cleaned the wound on Clara’s back without summoning any domestic staff. Moving with swift precision, he guided her into his private study, locked the reinforced doors, and placed a direct call to his personal security detail and federal authorities, sealing her off from the Mercer family’s reach once and for all.

Over the following weeks, their marriage—originally built purely as a cold business arrangement—began to transform. Julian respected her boundaries, backed her management decisions at the estate, and immediately fired anyone who spoke disrespectfully of her. It was not yet love, but it rested on deep mutual respect, something Clara had never experienced in her life.

Realizing his control was slipping, Arthur called an emergency board meeting of the Mercer Group. He attempted to invoke an old legal clause to strip Clara of her inheritance, arriving with two bribed psychiatrists and ten years of forged medical logs.

“My daughter is mentally unstable,” Arthur declared to the board with fake concern. “She is being manipulated by Julian Vance, who married her solely for her trust fund.”

Before the board could vote, the heavy doors swung open.

Clara walked in wearing a sharp, tailored ivory suit that didn’t hide her presence—it commanded the room. Beside her walked Julian, carrying a heavy steel dispatch box.

“If I am unstable, Father,” Clara said, her voice echoing clearly, “then explain why the key I retrieved on my wedding night unlocks this.”

Julian set the box down and turned the antique brass key. Inside were Arthur’s private ledgers, revealing a decade of offshore embezzlement, illegal wire transfers, and receipts paid to corrupt medical facilities to keep Clara isolated. Attached to the files was Clara’s mother’s true, unedited final will—leaving 100% of the Mercer empire directly to Clara upon her marriage.

Arthur turned deathly pale. “That box was stolen from my private vault!”

In a desperate, blind rage, Arthur lunged across the table toward Clara. But Julian instantly stepped into his path, catching Arthur by the throat and slamming him back with an iron grip.

“Don’t ever step near my wife again,” Julian warned, his voice low and lethal.

State troopers flooded the room, placing Arthur Mercer under arrest for corporate fraud, embezzlement, and unlawful confinement.

Six months later, Arthur was sentenced to federal prison, and Clara took her rightful place as Chairwoman of the Mercer Group. On a warm autumn evening, Julian took Clara’s hand in the quiet gardens of Vancewood and presented her with a simple platinum ring.

“When we got married, it was a contract to survive,” Julian said softly. “Will you share your life with me now, as my equal, my partner, and my true wife?”

With a radiant smile—her first in over ten years—Clara stepped into his arms. Together, they had destroyed the monsters of her past and built a future no one could ever take away.
