New parents noticed that their dog sat beside the baby’s crib every night without moving — so they decided to install a camera
When a young couple welcomed their newborn daughter into the family, their golden retriever, Laura, immediately took on the role of a nanny. Dogs often become loyal companions to children, but Laura’s behavior soon started to seem unusual.
Then something very strange began happening. For an entire week, every night Laura would walk over to the baby’s crib and sit beside it without moving. She wouldn’t lie down, fall asleep, or even leave to drink water. She simply sat there, staring continuously at the baby and occasionally whining softly.
“She’s probably just protecting her,” the mother said at first with a smile.
But day after day, the dog’s behavior became even stranger. She stayed beside the crib until morning while the parents slept in their own room. Yet during the day, she behaved completely normally — eating, sleeping, and playing as usual.
The young mother eventually became frightened by the dog’s behavior. “Why is she doing this? I’m really scared for our daughter. Maybe we should take her to the vet?”
