A Woman Needs to Be Hit to Learn Her Place! I Fired Back: Gloves Are Off! (Part 2)

I took a step closer to the sofa, my presence forcing Bernice to press her back hard against the cushions as her arrogant smile completely vanished.

“I am the sole owner of this property,” I stated in a cold, unyielding voice. “I earned every single penny of my savings, and neither you nor your pathetic, spineless son will ever lay a finger on my hard-earned assets.”

Bernice gasped, clutching her pearls in utter shock before looking over at Gregory, who was sitting silently in the corner, clutching his bruised ribs and refusing to make eye contact with her.

“Gregory!” Bernice shrieked, her voice cracking with fury. “Are you going to let this disrespectful woman talk to your mother like this? Put her in her place right now!”

Gregory flinched, pulling his shoulders inward. “Mom… shut up,” he whimpered softly. “Just please stop talking.”

Bernice’s eyes widened in disbelief. She stood up from the sofa, her face turning a violent shade of red as she realized her control over her son was slipping. “You raised your hand against my son, didn’t you? You hit him! I will call the police, have you arrested for domestic violence, and take everything you own!”

I pulled out my phone, opened the audio player, and pressed play.

Gregory’s frantic, weeping voice filled the quiet living room: “My mother told me to do it! She said I had to break your spirit so you would give us the condo and your bank accounts! She planned all of it!”

The color completely drained from Bernice’s face. She stared at the phone in total shock, her mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water.

“That audio recording, along with the security camera footage from the hallway, is already backed up on three secure cloud servers,” I said calmly. “If either of you ever steps foot on my property again, or if you attempt to delay our divorce proceedings, this recording goes straight to the Detroit Police Department, Gregory’s employer, and the state engineering licensing board.”

Gregory looked up in absolute terror. A domestic abuse investigation and extortion charge would instantly destroy his engineering career and ruin his professional reputation forever.

“Lorelei, please,” Gregory begged, tears welling in his eyes. “We’ll sign whatever you want. Just don’t release that audio!”

I walked over to the front door, pulled it wide open, and pointed into the hallway.

“You have twenty minutes to pack your personal belongings,” I commanded Gregory. “Leave your keys, your garage opener, and sign the temporary separation agreement sitting on the kitchen counter. If you are not out of my house before the clock strikes six, I will press charges.”

Bernice tried to utter one last threat, but I stepped into her space with a look so sharp and lethal that she practically sprinted out the front door, dragging her heavy tote bags of cold casseroles behind her.

Twenty minutes later, Gregory walked out of my apartment carrying two luggage bags, his head bowed in complete defeat. He placed his house keys on the entry table without uttering a single word. As the door clicked shut behind him, a profound sense of relief and liberation washed over me.

Over the next three months, my legal team moved with ruthless efficiency. Armed with the voice recording and proof of financial extortion, my attorney drafted an ironclad divorce settlement. Faced with potential criminal charges and public humiliation, Gregory surrendered all claims to my Palmer Woods condo, forfeited his share of our joint wedding gifts, and agreed to pay all legal fees associated with the annulment.

Bernice’s reputation among our extended acquaintance circle took a severe hit after subtle details of her failed domestic ambush leaked through mutual colleagues. Gregory was forced to move back into his mother’s basement, burdened by the crushing weight of his own hubris and the realization that his abusive games had cost him everything.

As for me, I returned to the mats with renewed strength and purpose. I expanded my evening self-defense classes, empowering dozens of vulnerable women to find their own voices, build unshakeable confidence, and recognize their intrinsic worth before any abuser could break them.

I stood in my quiet, sunlit living room, taking a deep breath of fresh air. The house that was meant to be my prison had become my fortress once again—a place built on resilience, independence, and the absolute truth that no monster would ever make me bow my head again.
