Woman Who Gave Birth to 8 Babies at Once Is Now Raising 14 Children — Here’s What Her Family Looks Like Years Later

Natalie “Nadya” Suleman became known around the world in January 2009 after giving birth to eight babies at once — an extraordinary event that attracted enormous international attention.

The eight children — Noah, Maliyah, Isaiah, Nariyah, Jonah, Makai, Josiah and Jeremiah — were born on January 26, 2009. They became the first known set of octuplets to survive infancy.

But the octuplets were not Nadya’s first children. She was already raising six children, meaning that after the birth she became a mother of 14.

Almost overnight, Nadya became a media sensation and was widely nicknamed “Octomom.” Her story appeared on television programs, websites and newspaper front pages around the world.

Life behind the headlines, however, was much more complicated.

Raising 14 children as a single mother brought enormous responsibilities and financial challenges. Nadya also faced intense public scrutiny, with photographers and reporters following almost every aspect of her family’s life.

Eventually, she largely stepped away from the spotlight and concentrated on giving her children a quieter and more private childhood.

Years passed, and the eight tiny babies whose photographs once fascinated millions grew into teenagers.

In January 2025, the octuplets celebrated their 16th birthday. Nadya shared her pride in Noah, Isaiah, Nariyah, Maliyah, Jeremiah, Josiah, Jonah and Makai as they reached the milestone.

The family has said that their everyday life is relatively simple and structured. The children help with household responsibilities, while Nadya has worked to keep the family close and provide them with as normal an upbringing as possible.

In 2025, Nadya and her family returned to public attention with the Lifetime documentary project “Confessions of Octomom,” giving them an opportunity to tell their story from their own perspective.

Today, the family looks dramatically different from the images people remember from 2009. Nadya’s oldest children are adults, while the famous octuplets are now teenagers.

More than 16 years after their remarkable birth captured worldwide attention, the story of Natalie Suleman and her 14 children continues to fascinate people.

For Nadya, however, the story is ultimately not about fame. It is about watching her children grow up and building a life together as one extraordinarily large family.
