I walked into court holding my newborn son while my husband’s lawyer smiled… (Part 1)

I entered the courtroom holding my six-day-old newborn son in my arms while my husband’s lawyer smiled as if I had already lost.

His attorney, Marcus Vail, leaned toward my husband and whispered loudly enough for the front row to hear: “She brought the baby for sympathy.”

My husband, Evan Reed, smirked from the front table in a tailored suit. Beside him sat his mother, Claudia, covered in pearls, and his new fiancée, Vanessa, wearing my wedding bracelet as if it were a trophy.

Attorney Marcus chuckled: “A plea for mercy?”
